We picked up Watson and Jola in Landsthul and drove to Trier. Distance is 103km. We found a place to park our ride and then it was game on!

We visited Libfrauenkirche, the Church of Our Lady. This stunning church was built sometime in the early 13th century.

When we were visiting the Church of Our Lady, I could hear very quiet singing. I thought maybe it was piped in but now I wonder if it was coming from St. Peters's Cathedral next door.
Maybe I was hearing part of this service at the neighboring Cathedral:
We visited The High Cathedral of St. Peter and I can only say that it is mind blowing and you must see it for yourselves. There are no words or pictures that can do it justice.

We ended the day by driving to Cochem Castle in Cochem, about 97km. The inside of the castle was closed, but that did not matter as we were all amazed by the beauty from the outside.

Note that Bart's docent last year gave differing information on the history of the castle, indicating that this is the original site and it was older than this wiki article states. All I can do is visit again!
